For a long time I have been interested in and enjoyed photography. Studying it at school as escapism from dryer subjects was my first in-depth exposure to the subject's history and technique. As time passed I became more interested in improving my technique and understanding the principals of photography, to enable me to capture images that were a closer representation of what I had seen in my mind's eye, whilst studying a scene through the lens.
When I go out to take photographs, I very rarely have specific images in mind. There may be one or two, but on the whole I try and avoid planning ahead, both as this requires effort and it is easy to fall into the trap of just reproducing shots that have been done before. I prefer to just wander a location taking pictures as and when something grabs my attention. Tthis is the beauty of digital photography; I can take two hundred experimental photos using my very haphazard approach and it costs me nothing to find out whether I have anything worth saving.
Now since I turned my last hobby into a career, photography has filled the empty hobby slot nicely. Since buying myself a D70 in August 2004, I have become even more passionate about my photos, probably to offset the cost of the camera. It is with this cost issue in mind that I set up this website to try and offset some of the cost of my hobby by selling the images that it produces.
I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did taking them
